Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising cookies. It uses the following browser storage and technical services for reading preferences, security and anonymous site measurement.
Reading preferences
When you change the text size or appearance, the choices are saved in your browser under reader-preferences. This is local storage, not a cookie. It contains only the selected text size and light, dark or system appearance. The data stays on your device until you clear this site's browser data.
Anonymous site measurement
Vercel Web Analytics records anonymous, aggregated page views without cookies. The measurements can include the page, referrer, country, browser, operating system and device type. They are not tied to an individual visitor or an IP address.
Vercel Speed Insights records anonymous performance data such as loading speed, responsiveness, visual stability, route, browser, device type, connection type and country. The data is used to improve this site and is not used to reconstruct an individual browsing session.
Contact form protection
When you send the contact form, Vercel BotID checks technical browser and request signals to distinguish people from automated spam. BotID uses the result only to protect the form. If a submission needs deeper verification, BotID may use short-lived technical security cookies whose names begin with KP_.
Admin login
The site owner's private admin area uses secure, strictly necessary Neon Auth session cookies. The main session cookie keeps the owner signed in until they sign out or the session expires. A signed session-data cookie is cached for 60 seconds. These cookies are not used for public visitors, analytics or advertising.
YouTube videos
Posts that contain a video embed YouTube's own player, and the player loads with the post. YouTube therefore receives technical request data, including your IP address, when you open such a post, whether or not you play the video. Embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set advertising cookies for viewing, though YouTube may still store data in your browser once you start playback. A player further down a post is not requested until you scroll to it.
Removing stored data
You can remove reader-preferences and any technical cookies by clearing the site data in your browser. The site will then return to its default reading settings. For questions, use the contact form.
