Chanterelle on South Funen
While camping in the Egebjerg Hills, I found a golden-orange moment in a landscape shaped by ice.
I am camping in the Egebjerg Hills on South Funen.
It has been raining, so the ground and leaves are wet. The woods are damp and quiet, and I am simply walking around slowly with my backpack on.
At one point, I notice something orange on the forest floor. The colour stands out among all the green leaves.
It is a small chanterelle.
I put down my backpack and look at it. It is standing all alone among the green leaves.
I stay there for a moment. Nothing special happens, but I like coming across something like this completely by chance.
I take a photo. I do not pick it, so it gets to stay where I found it.
It does not take up much of an entire day, but this is exactly the kind of small moment from a trip that I want to remember.
